According to http://packages.opensuse-community.org, it appears that opensuse 
uses non-standard names for the Boost libraries. Stick

BOOST_PYTHON_LIBNAME="boost_python"
BOOST_THREAD_LIBNAME="boost_thread"

into your siteconf.py. That should get you a step further.
