I've used Triangle to make periodic meshes by putting a sufficient
number of nodes onto the boundary and then passing
allow_boundary_steiner=False, which will prevent more boundary nodes
from being inserted. triangle won't figure out the connectivity for you,
but you should be able to do that by hand.
