As you may have noticed, I just had to abruptly shut down all of the
scicomp machines that reside in the data center in the Advanced
Computation Building. (porter, stout, dunkel) I apologize if this
disrupted your work. koelsch remains available (it is still in Siebel),
however without access to its /shared file system. The shutdown became
necessary because we were alerted by data center staff that there
appears to be humidity entering the building, resulting in electrical
and other hazards to staff and machines.
That's all I know at this point. We will keep you posted as we learn
The issue in the ACB data center has been resolved.
All scicomp systems are back up.
